Republish Featured News
Every story on this site is free to read. Republishing is for publishers approved by Featured: once approved, you can run any story on your site the day it appears, with attribution.
Two Levels
| Anyone | Approved publishers |
|---|---|
| Read every story, and link to it or quote a line of it with attribution. Preview what a package contains and read the license. Republishing a story needs an approved account. | Take any story as HTML, plain text or JSON, with your placement recorded for the experts you quote. Customize which perspectives run. Alerts by email or Slack. Your Republished list, and a notice when a story you ran is corrected. |
Why Republishing Needs an Approved Account
Two reasons, both in the experts’ interest. The package carries a token that records your placement, so every expert you quote sees your publication in their report, which is the reason they answered. And the license goes to a publication we know, accepted once by a person there, instead of assumed. Accounts are set up by Featured; to apply, email news@featured.com with your publication’s URL. Signing in is your email, then a link in your inbox.
What You May Change
| Allowed | Not allowed |
|---|---|
| Edit the headline and dek to house style. Trim the intro. Run a subset of the perspectives, in any order. Add your own reporting above or below. | Editing a quote, a name, a title or a company. Removing the attribution sentence or its link. Linking an expert’s name anywhere except their Connectively profile. Presenting the story as your own reporting. |
Canonical and SEO
The original lives here, at news.featured.com. The HTML package starts with a <link rel="canonical"> to it: put that in your page’s <head>. The attribution sentence with its link and the tracking pixel are inside the article; keep both.
